Upside Down Apple Gingerbread


1/4 cup butter, melted
2 apples, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar


Pour butter into a 9” square baking pan. Arrange apples over butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar.


1/2 cup butter
2 cups flour
1/2 cup molasses
1 t. baking soda
1/2 cup sugar
1 t. cinnamon
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 t. ground ginger
1 egg
1 t. ground cloves
1/2 t. salt
3/4 cup hot water


Combine butter, molasses, sugar, brown sugar and eggs. Mix Well.

Combine dry ingredients. Stir into molasses mixture along with the hot water. Mix well.

Pour over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool 5 minutes.

Loosen edges and invert onto serving plate.
